Anyone ever used a nuby sippy cup?

  • My husband and I bought our son a sippy cup last night at walmart. it's lime green with handles. Its a No Spill Cup with soft silicone spout. Its 10z cup. Any other moms out there ever let there child transition to this kind of cup? Hes going to be 6 months old soon and I was only going to let him maybe take few sips here and there..to just try the cup out, but we will still be using a bottle in the meantime. So when we fully transition to a cup it wont be as hard. Or I just might save this cup for him until he's at least 7 months old or older. Any advice or opinions wanted. No rude answers

  • my sister has a red and a purple nuby sippy cup.
she has been drinking out of them since she was 7 months old, as they are like bottles.. with the soft teet..
although she couldnt hold it up properly, i think they are great!.. they are soft on the babies gums, are easy to handle with the unusual shape..
and it is getting the child used to drinking by his/her self..

i personally think they are great :)

  • I am using the Nuby now.My daughter will be 5 months in a few days. She is fully breastfed and doesn't take the bottle. Although all she can do is grab the handles which I hope is a good start because her daddy is frustrated trying to give her the bottle and she won't take it from me. I just give it to her so she can get a feel for it even when she is not feeding since she is putting everything in her mouth. Although we still have some time to grow into the Nuby, I think it's an excellent product for babies transitioning to the cup or straw.

  • my daughter started using the Nuby cup when she was 4 months old. She won't take a bottle so it's the only way we can get her to drink if I am not around. I like it because it's easy for her to hang onto with the 2 grippy handles. She actually likes it better without the sippy top on it though - the two handles are still nice because it makes it easier for her to hold.

  • My son uses his nuby sippy cup and he loves it.

  • My nine month old loves his nuby sippy cup. We have two of them now. He will drink formula out of them all times except for right before bed, and right before a nap. With time he will let go of the bottle. :)

  • i have one of those and i find my daughter struggles with it a little. i started her out on there gerber sippy cups that have a slight angle to them and she uses those much better.

  • Nuby is the brand that we used to switch our daughter over. They worked great. They seem the best to switch them over because the spout is soft like a nipple. These cups worked great til my daughter started having all her teeth. At that this point, the cups did work any longer. She bit the spout and the pieces on the inside that kept them from leaking broke and the liquid would just pour out. They are a great transition cup but don't work later on. I think they are worth the money though because they are so much cheaper than the others.

  • We used the Nuby cups to transition between the breast and regular sippy cups. But we did so later-when our younger daughter was @ 12 months old. She did like them-took to them right away after only being breastfed. Our pediatrician recommended them.

  • i feel that's a good idea. i used a soft spout cup when i started the transition. the handles are a plus also. i started around six months also and around the time he turned ten months he didn't really take a bottle anymore, except at bed time, and by age one it was gone and he drinks from any kind of sippy cup. soft or hard spout, handles or no handles. as long as it's spill proof. have fun and good luck.

  • I use the nuby. I also introduced it around 6 months. My daughter is 10.5 months old now and she still hasn't shown much intrest but it's good that your trying. Maybe he'll love it. Still make sure he gets formula for the first year but if he'll drink it out of the sippy cup then great!
